Got naked windows that need some love? Learn how to make your very own bespoke Roman blind that’s perfectly tailored to your home and decor!
Who’s it for?
This class is suitable for improvers, those who have completed our Beginners Sewing Course or already have some sewing experience. No prior soft furnishing experience is required.
What you’ll learn:
- How to measure your window and calculate fabric requirements
- Understanding all the different components of a Roman blind
- Step-by-step construction of a blind up to 142cm wide and 175cm long
- Tips for achieving a neat, professional finish
- How to safely install and finish your blind using breakaway safety toggles and cleats
What’s included:
- Expert tutor guidance throughout the day
- Use of sewing machines and tools in the studio
- Recommendations for cassette blind kits (emailed upon booking)
- The knowledge and confidence to make more blinds at home
What to bring:
- Roman Blind Cassette
- Outer fabric
- Lining fabric
- Basic sewing kit (scissors, unpicker, pins, etc.)
Optional: you can purchase additional cassette kits if you’d like to make more blinds at home.
Course format:
- One-day workshop (with a short break for lunch)
- Hands-on, step-by-step teaching
- You’ll leave with a completed Roman blind, ready to dress your window
