Always wanted to make your own curtains? Whether you’ve got high ceilings, unusual windows, or just fancy something totally unique (with cushions to match!), this class will give you the skills to transform your home without spending thousands.
Who’s it for?
This class is perfect for improvers with some basic sewing experience (such as completing our Beginners Sewing Course). No soft furnishing experience is required.
What you’ll learn:
- How to measure your window and calculate fabric requirements
- Understanding different header tapes and linings
- How to make lined curtains to fit either a pole or a rail
- How to construct professional-looking samples
- The confidence and know-how to go home and make full-sized curtains
What’s included:
- Expert tuition in our supportive studio environment
- Header tapes (included in the class price)
- A curtain-making fabric kit ready and waiting for you on arrival (suitable for your class samples)
- Sewing machines and equipment provided
What to bring:
- Your basic sewing kit (scissors, unpicker, pins, etc.)
Optional: You can use our fabric kit provided, or bring your own fabric if you’d like.
Course format:
- 2-part evening class (spread over two consecutive weeks)
- Focus on making small sample curtains (due to space)
- Practical, hands-on learning with step-by-step support
